Licenses and Compliances

In order to run a business successfully, the business owners need to ensure that their business has the requisite licenses and compliances required under the law. If businesses do not have requisite licenses then they could be subject to legal action, extensive scrutiny, and penalty. Depending on the nature of their business, businesses may require the following licenses and compliances: 

FSSAI License - The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India grants FSSAI license to all food business operators in India. All the food business operators must follow all the rules & regulations of FSSAI for food quality control. Food business operators are given a 14 digit number during the registration process that needs to be printed on food packages. FSSAI Registration is instrumental in ensuring the quality of food products. Shop and Establishment License - When a business entity starts to employ people may be as casual workers, contract-based, full-time employees etc to regulate the work conditions and simultaneously ensure that the rights of workers are protected then Shop and Establishment License is required. If sops are in multiple states then license in each state is required. Trade license - A certificate that permits a company to carry on the trade activities in a particular municipal limit for which it is issued is known as Trade license. Company Law compliances - At least two board meetings should be conducted in a calendar year for private limited company. One Annual General Meeting should be held every year and a gap of 15 months should exist between two Annual General Meetings. Within 30 days of incorporation of the company, the First Auditor must be appointed. All the current directors of the company are required to fill the form MBP-1 to disclose their interest in any other company.
